A day on the water in Miami: your private charter
Biscayne Bay, the Intercoastal Waterway and the open Atlantic are all within minutes of South Beach. A private charter is one of the best Miami experiences.
What a private boat day looks like
A full-day private charter typically departs from a marina in Miami Beach or the Marina at Bayside in Downtown. The itinerary is yours to shape: a morning snorkel at the outer reefs, lunch anchored at a sandbar (Haulover Sandbar is the classic), an afternoon swimming in the turquoise shallows of the bay, and sunset drinks on the deck heading back in. Most charters include a captain and a deckhand; provisioning with food and drinks is usually arranged separately and can be done through your dedicated contact.
Boat sizes range from a 35-foot open dayboat for a group of six to full-sized yachts with multiple cabins for larger parties or overnight trips. Half-day options (4–5 hours) are also available if you want the experience without a full day's commitment.
How to book a boat charter in Miami
Your dedicated contact can recommend and book a vetted charter operator for your dates. For the best availability in peak season (December–April), book at least one week in advance; last-minute charters are possible in shoulder season. Fishing charters, wakeboarding, paddleboard and watersport-specific vessels are also available for those with specific activities in mind.
