Sexy Fish

Sexy Fish is the Miami outpost of Richard Caring’s flamboyant London original, a maximalist Asian seafood and sushi restaurant in Brickell that is as much an art installation as a dining room. With Damien Hirst works, golden mermaids and a famously vast collection of Japanese whisky, it is built for spectacle.

The space is opulent and theatrical, glittering, loud and glamorous, with a busy bar and a dressed-up, high-energy crowd. It is a restaurant designed to impress, where the décor and the scene are part of the show alongside the food. Dress up; this is not a low-key night.

The menu spans Japanese, Chinese and Southeast Asian seafood: sushi and sashimi, robata-grilled dishes, signature fish plates and inventive cocktails, generous and made for sharing. It is indulgent and showy, matched to the surroundings.

Sexy Fish is best for groups and couples who want a glamorous, high-energy night out rather than a quiet meal; it is expensive and very much a scene. Book the dining room and reserve ahead at weekends. In Brickell, about fifteen to twenty minutes from the residence across the bay.
